OUR RELATIONSHIP
WITH
H is for Hawk
In late 2024, LUNA TIDES was appointed by Plan B Entertainment and Good Gate Media to produce a specialist Electronic Press Kit (EPK) and behind-the-scenes promotional campaign for H is for Hawk. Working closely with the film’s producers, including Louise Lovegrove and Tobi Kyeremateng, our team operated directly within a live feature film production environment during principal photography.
As production progressed, the relationship extended into post-production, where we collaborated across UK and Los Angeles-based teams to manage and deliver a secure promotional asset package ahead of the film’s release and festival campaign.
Our go-to for EPK!

FEATURED WORK

To support the release of H is for Hawk — Helen MacDonald’s acclaimed memoir adapted for screen — the production team commissioned LUNA TIDES to create an EPK that captured the emotional tone and cinematic identity of the film for press, festival and international distribution use.
The brief involved filming intimate cast and crew interviews alongside cinematic behind-the-scenes coverage across multiple production locations, including Cambridge and Penllyn Estate. A major operational challenge centred around filming sequences involving the film’s goshawk, Mabel, where strict animal safety procedures and controlled access heavily influenced how coverage could be captured on set.
Alongside production challenges, all deliverables needed to integrate into the studio’s secure post-production pipeline, meeting strict technical specifications, anti-piracy requirements, watermarking standards and evolving editorial workflows as the feature progressed through picture lock.
Our production setup was designed to stay agile within the demands of an active film set while maintaining a minimal footprint around cast, crew and animal handling teams.
For interview sequences, we deployed a focused two-person crew consisting of a Director and Director of Photography (DOP), allowing us to capture polished, intimate conversations without disrupting the wider production environment. For broader behind-the-scenes coverage, our DOP embedded directly alongside the unit across fragmented shoot dates to document the production organically as it unfolded.
During complex sequences involving Mabel the hawk, filming positions and capture methods were adapted around strict safety boundaries and controlled movement zones. Long-lens focal setups allowed us to safely document key action moments while remaining fully compliant with on-set protocols.
In post-production, we established a secure remote collaboration workflow using Frame.io, integrating low-resolution offline ProRes media supplied by the main editorial team. Using the production’s show LUTs, timecode references and approved motion graphics packages, we ensured all promotional assets maintained visual continuity with the final feature film.
Working closely with Post Production Supervisor René Taylor and international stakeholders, we managed continuous editorial revisions, soundtrack updates and evolving picture locks throughout delivery.

LUNA TIDES successfully delivered a complete suite of EPK rushes and polished promotional featurettes for UK and international publicity teams ahead of the film’s release window.
Despite ongoing editorial revisions, evolving cuts and large-scale media updates throughout post-production, all delivery milestones were achieved on schedule. The final assets provided distributors, press teams and international buyers with a secure, cinematic behind-the-scenes campaign package that reflected both the emotional depth and production scale of H is for Hawk.
Most importantly, the project reinforced LUNA TIDES’ ability to operate as a trusted embedded production partner within high-profile film and television environments, balancing cinematic storytelling with the operational realities of large-scale feature production.
