THE EXPOSURE PROGRAMME
EXPOSURE
Exposure is our commitment to developing the future of the commercial creative industries. By providing emerging talent with training, mentorship and access to real commercial projects, we create meaningful pathways into the industry while helping build a more accessible, diverse and sustainable creative ecosystem.
OUR MISSION
The commercial video production industry is evolving faster than ever, but gaining meaningful, real-world experience remains one of the biggest challenges facing emerging creatives.
Exposure was created to bridge the gap between learning and industry. Our mission is to help aspiring videographers, editors, photographers, content creators and production professionals develop the skills, confidence and experience needed to succeed in commercial video production.
Through industry mentoring, hands-on training and live client projects, Exposure provides opportunities to work on real briefs, collaborate with businesses, and gain practical experience across every stage of the production process.
We believe the best way to learn is by doing. By combining professional guidance with real commercial projects, Exposure helps emerging creatives build stronger portfolios, develop industry-ready skills and take meaningful steps towards sustainable creative careers.

R&D Pilot
Exposure began as a six-month research and development pilot exploring new ways of supporting emerging talent within commercial video production.
Supported through the SMART Flexible Innovation Support (SMARTFIS) programme, the pilot tested a model built around paid training, industry mentoring and real-world commercial projects, helping participants gain practical experience while contributing to live client work.
Unlike many entry-level creative opportunities, Exposure was built around the principle that emerging talent should be rewarded for their time and contribution. Participants received paid training alongside one-to-one mentoring from industry professionals, helping them develop both technical skills and commercial confidence.
Participants worked on live briefs for Welsh businesses, gaining hands-on experience across pre-production, filming, photography and post-production. This provided exposure to real client expectations, collaborative working environments and commercial production workflows.
Across two cohorts, the pilot supported 12 emerging creatives from South Wales and generated valuable insight into the barriers facing early-career talent. The programme helped test new approaches to skills development, mentoring and paid creative training, creating a foundation for the future evolution of Exposure.

Paid Opportunities. Because talent deserves more than exposure.

Every participant received paid support to take part in the programme - a model that remains uncommon across much of the creative industries.
